Week's Adventures

Camping is fun. Sure. But camping with a huge family for more than a few days? Not so much. My friend Emily came to visit me on Thursday night and we went shopping on Friday and found her prom dress! It's gorgeous! Then Friday night I drove out to Davidson River Campground and spent until late Monday afternoon with my family. Let's just say that there are many people in my family. Way too many dynamics. Here's a synopsis:

Dad - stressed about work, wanted to relax while camping, sweet as can be
Mom - wanted to have fun, stressed about the girls fighting
Me - my sisters were driving me crazy, i'm not really the biggest "camper" in the world, but happy to be away from college for a little bit
Katie - hyper and excited to be camping but sick of being around Michelle
Michelle - loves camping but wasn't very interested in being around anyone - especially Katie
Nicki - pretty much an angel and she loves camping

So basically this was too long of a camping trip.

The girls are on spring break this week and Katie came with me to visit me at UNCC. We had lots of fun. We went shopping, saw "The Last Song," went out to dinner, and got our nails done. It was great!

SO...I'm having the big talk with my dad tomorrow about Jordan and I getting married (SOON) and I am so nervous! Of course Jordan is having the "real" talk with him eventually but my dad said he wants to talk to me 1st about it. Ah.

This weekend is gonna be "girls weekend" with me, my roomate Laura, and Christi. We are excited!

Random fact about myself -
Law and Order SVU is my favorite show ever. I'm kind of obsessed.

School and Home

I am just so distracted this semester that school is at the bottom of my list (don't tell my parents!)

I go home almost every weekend for many reasons. Here are a few:

-First and foremost, Jordy is there and I always want to see him every chance I get!
-Mom: She has her hands full with my THREE sisters (ages 15, 13, 11) and begs me to come home!
-Church. I haven't really found a church in Charlotte (not that I've been looking that hard since I go out of town pretty much every weekend) so I just love going home to go to my home church.
-Dorm life can be extremely boring... and especially if the weather is bad, there isn't much to do.

The only problem with going home often is that I get absolutely ZERO amounts of homework done so I come back on Mondays swamped (I am currently on a break since I have been at this computer doing my procrastinated homework for almost three hours).

Life is good though! My parents and I are getting along wonderfully (such a difference from this time last year), grades aren't so bad, Jordan and I are in love and loving it!, and the weather is turning gorgeous!

I have much to be thankful for.

...Now if only I could finish this homework...

Crazy Times

So... nothing in my life is getting easier. College choices are getting harder. My parents and I are arguing constantly about it. The only thing that is a little easier is my schedule. School is very simple but that just makes it so that college is weighing on my mind even more. I'm seriously considering going to the University of Houston. That really makes my parents mad/upset because I am going so far away and thinking about going to live with my dad but oh well. I really don't want to attend college in NC and I never have. The University of Houston is cheaper and it is closer to all my aunts that live in Dallas. Not to mention that my two little sisters live in Houston too. I also am getting a lot of scholarship there that I would not get at NC State (where my parents want me to go). After this huge blow out fight today, my mom finally informed me that she and my dad were going to step out of my college decisions. They said to just tell them what I decide and that they were not going to put in any more imput about it. And after I tell them, they will let me know how much they can help. It was really weird. I feel like if they had told me this months ago, then it would have saved many fights, tears, and misunderstandings. Obviously though, no parents want to let their child pick whatever college they want without their help and without being close to home. But that is what I want. I want to make the decision by myself because I am going to be 18 and it is supposed to be my choice. However, even though they consented, I know they are dissapointed and don't think I am being wise and etc etc. But I feel that even if going to the University of Houston is the wrong decision, then I will deal with the consequences and transfer. I do not think it will be a big deal. I plan on transferring anyways unless I really like it there. Maybe Texas A&M... :)

Anyways, other than college, I am still working. And it is going better. But the "newness" of the job has worn off and most days I go in not looking forward to it anymore. I guess that is how it is with most part-time jobs that you didn't go to college for though.

Babysitting is going good too (I miss you Brooks' though... Little Miss Natalie is getting so big!!) I have also seriously considered staying in Asheville, getting an apartment, and just becoming a nanny. However, as much as I think I would love to do that, I know that I eventually would wish I had gone and had the "college experience."

Graduation is in exactly 4 months next week! That is the one good thing I know is not gonna change so I am really excited about that! It is May 30th :)

New Year... 2009

I apologize blog. I haven't been very faithful in keeping up with you. I did there for a while... I don't know what happened.

Life is still crazy. But its 2009! SIP is pretty much over with. Thank heavens! Exams are next week and then 1st semester is officially over! I got accepted into NC State but I have no idea if that is where I am going to end up attending because when I visited, I really did not like it very much. Jordan and I have been dating for over a year now. That's exciting. And graduation is on the horizon. Whoever said senior year is the best year of your life... I would like to disagree. It has been stressful and confusing. Granted, it has been fun. But fun does not overtake the stressful and confusing part. I am still babysitting a lot... and am seriously considering staying home next year and being a nanny. I would LOVE that. But then I would have to live on my own and I want to branch off and do my own thing...so I couldn't have both and that sucks. Working at Lonestar is going good. I'm working 5 days a week though so I don't have time for much else. It is emotionally draining as well as physically. There are so many different kinds of people there. But I enjoy learning from them. I wish God would just plop a big package down in my lap though which told me His plan for my life. That would be nice. Why can't things be that easy? Why?

Pajama Day

So, I believe that every now and then you should have a stay-at-home day where you wear pajamas or sweats all day long.

Today is my day. No school. No working on homework. Just relaxing. Sigh :)

(I have to go into work at 4 but I am not thinking about that)

Two More Days

So after today and tomorrow, we are out of school for the rest of the week! Wooohooo. I am so done with school at the moment that I feel like I am just floating through the hallways getting nothing accomplished. Therefore, I am very excited that its almost over! I think my parents are going out of town too and that will be even better because I can get everything accomplished without anyone riding my back!

I am still nervous about the college applications that I sent in! Maybe I just won't get in anywhere and then I won't have to go to college. That would be a bummer... but it would definitely be a clear sign that I wasn't supposed to go. We shall see.
